A great overview: http://laughingsquid.com/battledecks-ii-improv-powerpoint-karaoke-at-sxsw-2008/

  7. Courtney Bennett - will do anything once, and once again to make sure
  8. David D'Onofrio - guess who's coming to dinner
  9. Andy Woodworth - Since I'm on track to get 1,000 members on the Facebook group for a Library themed Ben & Jerry's flavor by Friday, I will honor my pledge to give Battle Decks a go. BRING IT ON! =D

Are you willing to judge the Battle Deck competitors? If so, list your name below!

  1. Julie Strange - finding winners since 2009 (all forms of paper, plastic, IOU, and pignoli cookies accepted) :-)
  2. Janice Painter - ditto from Julie
  3. Dave Lisa - The next best gig short of judging for American Idol!
  4. Beth Tribe - cash, check, money orders, American Express Black card, chocolate, or your eternal gratitude accepted

Who is going to make the decks for battle decks? I'll volunteer to make one.

Good Question Derik! Right now Amy Kearns and myself are putting together a deck or two each. If you could do this that would be a great help.

Each deck is going to be 10 slides and each presenter will have 10 seconds per slides for 100 seconds of pressure!

Anyone else willing to put together a battle deck, post here!

Any other criteria besides 10 slides? Should they have some kind of coherence or just be completely random/incoherent?

Battle Decks are being assembled. We still need:

1 or 2 competitors

3 or 4 judges. Judges will be given judging criterion when they arrive at camp that morning. It can't be a battle without a winner! (and yes, we have prizes).

Okay, now that the list of judges is filling up, I'm finally starting to get nervous. :)

We need at least one more brave soul to compete -- come on, you know you want to!

Annndd... we have prizes. Good prizes! This is getting funner by the minute. (yes, I know funner is not a word... or is it now. I think I heard that it was added to the dictionary but it still seems wrong).

If there is a deck left for me, I will certainly do it to fulfill my pledge. =D
